My Journey With Reiki Begins Here…

I am an artist of many forms from the DMV area in the U.S.A. I am a first generation Indian-American woman who focuses on educating others on Eastern thought (especially Hinduism [Sanatan Dharma] and it’s practices) and it’s representation in the west by using contemporary art in a style inspired a lot by American contemporary art and Japanese contemporary art.

Many of these practices and experiences in the spiritual comminuty that have already been solved many ancient cultures are re-labeled with meaning lost, when the wheel isn’t broken and is just not properly studied or respected.

It is frightening how many people who don’t know anything on historical context, cultural context, and proper practices are currently educating others in the community. I also feel exasperated by the lack of cultural representation by those families who have lived this culture for generations (and some of us, millenia) in the west.

While I am born and raised as a Hindu, and born and raised in the U.S.A., I have also been very passionate about learning more and bringing proper knowledge to the communities of my home that have been looking for these answers to incorporate into their lives. As there is too much misinformation in these communities, especially online, I found my purpose through my artistry; however, while my art, music, and other creations bring awareness, I wanted something more practical to give back to my community. While I had always been interested in studying Reiki for my own betterment, I am now happy to give back what I’ve learned and practiced to the community looking for healing in their lives.
